San José’s Municipal Rose Garden

It’s time to stop and smell the roses

At San José’s historic and majestic Municipal Rose Garden, it’s more than easy to stop and smell the roses. And that’s because the five and 1/2 acre natural wonder, which was founded in 1927, is solely dedicated to the iconic bloom – with over 4,000 plantings, and a whopping 189 varieties. Even better? There’s hardly a day, no matter the time of year you visit, when at least one species is not in full bloom. It’s a unique, fragrant, and colorful attraction you shouldn’t miss when visiting the Silicon Valley.
