Best Kid-Friendly Things To Do in San Jose
Kids deserve to get in on the fun, too
If your family is heading to San Jose, don’t miss these three kid-friendly activities while staying at Hotel De Anza.
Alum Rock Park
Founded in 1872 and located in the east foothills of San Jose, Alum Rock Park was the California’s first municipal park. It spans 740 acres, and boasts tons of kid-friendly trails and other outdoor activities, including horseback riding and bicycling. If you feel like just chilling out, pack a picnic and take in the breathtaking scenery.
Happy Hollow Park and Zoo
This 16-acre zoo doubles up as an amusement park, so it’s a learning experience that happens to be fun, too. After exploring the grounds and looking at more unusual creatures like jaguars, lemurs, and meerkats, take a spin on the carousel and roller coaster. No visit, though, would be complete without a stop at the Education Center, Happy Hollow’s educational hub.
Japanese Friendship Garden
In 1965, this garden built to symbolize the friendship between San Jose and its sister city of Okayama, Japan. It’s a serene, tranquil place with immaculately-maintained grounds, roaring waterfalls, Japanese bridges, and ponds filled with Koi fish.
