Lowell Observatory Turns 125

Perched atop Mars Hill in Flagstaff is Lowell Observatory. It’s one of the country’s preeminent research and viewing facilities and Sedona’s most popular attractions, and is celebrating its 125th anniversary this year. Among its most noteworthy achievements? The discovery of Pluto, the ninth planet in our solar system. It also happens to be terrific for children and adults alike, and is especially striking during the evening with its special Clark After Hours offering. Available by reservation only, see the dazzling night sky as you’ve never done before through the Clark Telescope, from 11p.m. to midnight.
