Ice Skating Guide to Lake Tahoe
Lace up for these terrific local spots
If skiing’s not your speed, or you’re looking for another activity to enjoy the great outdoors in Lake Tahoe, why not try your hand at ice skating? The luxurious Resort at Squaw Creek is home to a charming outdoor rink, which is open every day from 10am to 10pm. (Rentals are available.) Northstar Skating Rink boasts a whopping 9,000 square foot rink smack dab in the middle of the Village of Northstar – making it convenient if you want to be close to bars and restaurants for some apres-skate action. (Bonus tip: it’s free if you bring your own skates; otherwise, rentals are $10.) For an indoor experience, check out the South Lake Tahoe Ice Arena in South Lake Tahoe. The full-size rink offers lessons, rentals, and lively black light party nights.
