How to make this Instagrammable cocktail at home

In time for fall, the mixologists at Tidal at San Diego’s Paradise Point Resort & Spa have unveiled some creative new cocktails. The Black and White Cocktail, in particular, become an overnight sensation with its positively pretty presentation and complex flavor profile. Here, we share the recipe so you can whip one up at home.

Recipe for Black and White Cocktail

Ingredients

El Silencio mezcal

Active coconut charcoal

Pineapple juice

Lime juice

Agave nectar

green chartreuse

aquafaba (garbanzo bean water)

To make the charcoal mezcal

Mix a bottle of the mezcal with ½ tablespoon of charcoal powder.

To make the aquafaba froth

Pour a cup of the aquafaba into a blender with one teaspoon of sugar, and blend at a high speed until light and frothy.

Directions to make the cocktail

1. Into a shaker, pour 2 ounces charcoal mezcal, 3/4 ounce pineapple juice, 1/2 ounce lime juice, 1/2 ounce agave nectar, and 1/4 ounce Green Chartreuse.

2. Shake vigorously, and strain in to coupe glass or martini glass.

3. Add the aquafaba froth on top, and enjoy immediately.
