A Perfect Day In Phoenix
How to spend 24 hours in this popular city
Given its warm, dry climate and over 300 sun-drenched days during the year, Phoenix, for obvious reasons, is a perennial tourist favorite.
If it’s your first time visiting the city, we recommend kicking off the day at Giant Coffee Co. with a best-selling honey vanilla latte and made-from-scratch baked goods (like the cinnamon swirl coffee cake). Then, head to the Desert Botanical Garden, where you can stroll through 140 acres of over 50,000 plants (including agave, cacti, and wildflowers).
To cool off in the afternoon and get your culture fix, check out the Heard Museum for its extensive Native American Art collection and Phoenix Museum of Art, whose private collection of 18,000 pieces spans categories including contemporary, photography, and fashion. End your day at Joyride Taco House. Cheerfully-decorated with plenty of seating – nab a table outdoors if you can – this hot spot doles out some of Phoenix’s most tantalizing tacos. The “standard,” comprised of slow-roasted chicken, avocado and Mexican slaw, is a top seller.
