After opening in 2006, it didn't take long for the fast growing company to become Eugene’s flagship brewery. Ninkasi now hosts a 60-barrel brewery located in the Historic Whiteaker district (2.1 mi from VRI) with an attached tasting room; this is the ideal spot to try current seasonals as well as the flagship Ninkasi lines – Total Domination, Tricerahops, and Believer. As stated on the Ninkasi website, “The ancient Sumerians worshipped the beer they made, and praised the Goddess Ninkasi for the miracle of fermentation. Beer is a staple of civilization.
