Molly Campbell, Gant Senior Executive and Civic Leader, to Retire

Aspen, Colo. – June 26, 2006 – Molly Campbell, one of Aspen’s best known hoteliers and a long-time community leader, will retire effective June 30, 2006.

Campbell has been with The Gant since 1975. She was appointed General Manager in 1980, served as Vice President of Destination Resort Management in 1989, and retained the position of Managing Director and Vice President of Destination Hotels & Resorts with responsibilities for The Gant, Mountain Lodge at Telluride and Ute Place since 2003.

“Under her guidance The Gant established itself as one of Colorado’s finest and most-respected condominium resorts,” said Charlie Peck, president of Destination Hotels and Resorts. “Her passion for her job translated to a relentless pursuit of excellence and a level of consistency that set The Gant apart from the competition.”

An Aspen resident since 1970, Campbell is a former chair and director of the Aspen Chamber Resort Association. She played a pivotal role in getting a lodging tax passed in 2002, which now contributes some $500,000 a year to the Chamber to promote the town. She also served for years on the Chamber’s marketing advisory committee and contributed to a variety of City of Aspen commissions, committees and planning groups.

“Molly has been an integral part of Aspen’s community leadership for more than two decades,” said Debbie Braun, president of the Aspen Chamber Resort Association. “Equally important, she has been a superb mentor to many members of our organization. She will be missed tremendously by all of us.”

Campbell feels honored to have had the opportunity to play a role in the Aspen community during a time of great growth. “Aspen is an incredible and unusual community that thrives on dialogue, communication…and dissent. It is, at its heart, a community rather than a ski resort.” She looks forward to hiking, camping, golfing, yoga and travel in the years ahead.
