Lowe Enterprises, Inc. and Destination Hotels & Resorts Appoint Terri A. Haack Executive Vice President and Managing Director for New Terranea Resort

Located Along the California Coastline, Terranea is Slated to Open in 2009

LOS ANGELES, Calif. - July 23, 2007 - Lowe Enterprises, Inc. and Destination Hotels & Resorts announce that Terri A. Haack has been appointed executive vice president and managing director for the company's new Terranea Resort. The 102-acre luxury resort is situated along the California coastline in Rancho Palos Verdes, just south of Los Angeles and is scheduled to open in 2009.

"Terri has a proven track record for success prior to, and within the Destination collection," said Charlie Peck, chief operating officer for Destination Hotels & Resorts.  "She is a natural leader who will significantly impact the success of Terranea."

Haack is currently vice president and regional managing director for Destination Hotels & Resorts, and brings nearly 30 years of hotel and resort operations experience to her new position at Terranea, including 15 years spent solely in resort community development, operations and real estate.   Most recently, Haack has overseen the $100 million redevelopment of Destination's Wild Dunes Resort - a 1,600-acre luxury resort and gated residential island community on Isle of Palms near Charleston, S.C.

In Haack's new role, she will manage overall operations of the firm's new Terranea Resort, which is being developed by Lowe affiliate, Lowe Destination Development.
"Terri has done a terrific job guiding the expansion of Wild Dunes Resort.  She will be a tremendous asset to our team as we create Terranea Resort, the only true luxury destination resort along the coastline of the Pacific Ocean in Los Angeles County," said Robert J. Lowe Jr., president of Lowe Destination Development.  "We are extremely mindful of the responsibility that comes with this amazing opportunity and we are confident that Terri will be a capable steward."

The resort boasts a prime location along the Palos Verdes Peninsula and is the only destination resort of its kind on the ocean in the Los Angeles area.  Located only 15 miles south of Los Angeles International Airport, Terranea will comprise a 360-room oceanfront resort hotel with 34 suites including a 1,800-square-foot Presidential Suite, along with 50 three-bedroom Casitas and 32 two- and three-bedroom Villas.  Terranea's Casitas and Villas are being offered for sale.

Terranea will offer more than 63,000 square feet of indoor meeting and event space including an 18,000-square-foot ballroom with 31 meeting rooms for social and business gatherings.  A variety of outdoor venues provide more than 75,000 square feet of terrace and lawn space with breathtaking views for meetings, weddings and social events.  The property also includes a 26,000-square-foot destination spa, a nine-hole golf academy, three restaurants and three swimming pools.

The name Terranea was created to reflect the Mediterranean nature of the resort's coastal setting. These Mediterranean influences will be found throughout the resort with its architecture and design, climate and the relaxed sophistication that defines its lifestyle experience.  Breathtaking views, dramatic gardens and indulgent amenities will define this classic American seaside resort.

Prior to joining Destination in 2002, Haack was executive vice president and managing director of Kingsmill Resort in Williamsburg, Va., a subsidiary of Anheuser-Busch Properties, Inc. While there, she led the repositioning of Kingsmill Resort to a world-class, golf, tennis, spa and conference facility.  Throughout her career, Haack has garnered numerous statewide, national and international awards and accolades. In March 2007, Haack was recognized as "Resort Executive of the Year" by a committee of previous winners and the international marketing firm of Yesawich, Pepperdine, Brown and Russell. In addition, she was awarded the 2007 South Carolina Hotelier of the Year. In 2006, Haack was elected to the shareholder group of Destination's parent company, Lowe Enterprises.  Haack holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and a Master of Arts in Organizational Management.
