Destination Hotels & Resorts Promotes Within and Expands Corporate Sales and Marketing Department

 

Englewood, Colo. - Oct. 16, 2007 - Andy Anderson, senior vice president of sales and marketing for Destination Hotels & Resorts, today announced a number of executive promotions and hires in the company's corporate sales and marketing department.

Industry veteran Curtis Bova was promoted to vice president of national sales. In his new role, Bova will oversee the company's five national sales offices in New York, San Francisco, Denver, Chicago and Southern California. Bova has been with DH&R for more than six years in a variety of sales and marketing and operations positions. He most recently was assistant general manager of the company's Inverness Hotel & Conference Center in Denver. Prior to his tenure in operations, Bova was a regional director of sales and marketing for DH&R where he oversaw the sales and marketing for The Inverness, as well has held regional responsibilities for the company's Mountain Collection of properties in Aspen, Vail, Telluride and Snowmass. Before joining DH&R, Bova had a successful career with Marriott Hotels in key sales and marketing positions.

Tyler Williams was promoted to vice president of revenue services. In his role, Williams will work closely with the field to ensure the portfolio is optimizing all electronic distribution channels. In addition, he will continue to execute the company's successful Revenue Optimization University training programs and manage global distribution channels such as Synxis. Williams joined the corporate team in 2006 as corporate director of revenue optimization. Prior to joining the corporate team, Williams was the director of revenue for Pointe South Mountain Resort in Phoenix, a former DH&R property, where he held both property and regional responsibilities. His background also includes five years with The Ritz-Carlton, Phoenix as a director of revenue, and also five years with Hyatt Hotels in various operational positions.

Another key move is the promotion of Greg Staley to vice president of transient and reservation sales where he is responsible for overseeing all corporate and leisure sales for the company, as well as reservations sales and training. Staley joined the corporate team nearly two years ago in a similar position and was recognized for his efforts to grow this important business segment. Prior to joining the corporate team, Staley was director of reservations sales for four years at Pointe South Mountain Resorts. Prior to working at Pointe South, Staley spent 12 years in a variety of hospitality leadership positions, focusing on both the rooms and food and beverage disciplines. 

Jennifer Long also has been recognized for her tenure and contributions to the corporate sales and marketing department with her promotion to assistant vice president of e-commerce. Long has been with the company more than thirteen years in various positions, most recently she shaped the company's internet and e-commerce strategy. Over the years she has reshaped the company's presence on the Internet through upgrades of property sites, the DH&R corporate site, as well as developing strategies and programs to increase web traffic and revenue throughout the collection. Long started her career with DH&R as a reception agent at The Inverness. Long is a member of HSMAI and the E-Marketing Association. She has participated in a number of industry events including the HITEC 2006 conference as a panelist on e-marketing issues and trends. 

The company also brought on Jon Lazarus as corporate director of revenue services. Lazarus has worked with DH&R for several years as an extension of the corporate revenue services team and recently accepted the full-time position. He will lead the due diligence transition process for new hotel purchases and will continue to provide support to the field with the deployment of key initiatives. He also will oversee the regional revenue optimization team for the company. Lazarus most recently was director of revenue at The Inverness. Prior to working with DH&R, Lazarus worked with Intercontinental Hotels Group for 15 years in a variety of positions, earning the 2002 Revenue Manager of the Year award for Crowne Plaza.
