Destination Hotels & Resorts Honors Sales & Marketing Leaders at Annual Conference

Annual Event Educates and Motivates Sales and Marketing Leaders

Englewood, Colo. – January 31, 2012Destination Hotels & Resorts, recently held the company’s national sales conference at Hamilton Park Hotel & Conference Center in New Jersey. More than 150 of Destination’s sales and marketing team members from over 35 properties across the United States met to participate in training sessions and recognize the company’s achievements in 2011 including the addition of six new properties to the collection. A select group of Destination Hotels & Resorts sales and marketing professionals were acknowledged during this event which took place January 16-18.

“Destination Hotels & Resorts is committed to creating an energized team that is constantly living above the line,” says Andre’ Fournier, senior vice president of sales and marketing. “This conference in an opportunity to empower our sales and marketing team and recognize top performers who demonstrate a commitment to excellence.”

The conference provides Destination with an opportunity to recognize top talent in the company. Dave Griffin, director of sales and marketing for Paradise Point was named the Outstanding Sales Leader of the Year and managing director, Ken Widmaier, of Destination Hotels & Resorts was honored as Outstanding Sales Advocacy. Eric Pease from Wild Dunes Resort was named Outstanding Sales Executive of the Year and Outstanding Sales Team of the Year went to Wild Dunes Resort in Charleston, SC.

Destination recognized four rising stars in their sales force –  Christe Daddario from Hamilton Park Hotel & Conference Center; Katie Giese from Royal Palms Resort and Spa; Jim Beaulieu from Stowe Mountain Lodge; and Julie Tenge from Royal Palms Resort and Spa. On the reservations team, Annette Ross from Paradise Point was named Reservations Sales Leader of the Year.

Erin Stremcha, director of marketing and public relations at Royal Palms Resort and Spa, earned the Destination Marketer of the Year. Paradise Point received recognition in the category of Outstanding Integrated Marketing Campaign. Most Innovative Spa Marketing Idea went to Alvadora Spa at Royal Palms Resort and Spa and The Spa at Terranea was awarded Most Effective New Spa Marketing Initiatives.

Synergy MVP, an award for the individual who shared the most sales leads, went to Shannon Dempsey from Destination Resorts Snowmass. The INFINity team, a specialized team devoted to insurance and finance meetings, won Affinity Team of the Year. Kasey Sander from Hamilton Park Hotel & Conference Center; Nickole Moriarty from Vail Cascade Resort & Spa; and Kristi Holliday from the Woodmark Hotel, Yacht Club & Spa received awards for Living Above the Line and demonstrating excellence throughout 2011. The ROOTY award for Revenue Optimizer of the Year went to Jim Phelan from The Carolina Inn.
