New Mountain Destinations

Destination added two new mountain properties to its portfolio in 2009 including Manor Vail Lodge and The Hotel Telluride. Manor Vail Lodge is located along Gore Creek, a defining feature of the Vail Valley, and offers amazing views of the Gore Range and Vail Mountain. Across the street from the Lodge are the Golden Peak base area facilities with Chair 6, the Riva Bahn Express which is one of the fastest ways to access Vail’s world famous Back Bowls and Blue Sky Basin. The Lodge recently completed a $100 million renovation and expansion to provide guests and owners with upgraded amenities and new services. The upgrades include new penthouse condominium units, exterior landscaping with heated pathways, a new reception area, enhanced pool areas and a new underground parking structure.

The 59-room Hotel Telluride features a beautiful lobby with a soaring two-story atrium, vaulted ceiling and views of the surrounding mountain range in every direction. The decor combines colors and textures of the wide-open American West with the style and comfort of a fine European Hotel. A stone floor, warm wool rugs, comfortable leather sofas, old world chairs and an antler chandelier, along with heavily carved antiques set the tone in the lobby with a huge stone fireplace as the centerpiece. Each of The Hotel Telluride's guest rooms feature a balcony with mountain views and custom furnishings, all a short walk away from town or the nearest chaiflift.

Destination added its first east coast mountain property in June 2008 when Stowe Mountain Lodge opened in Stowe, Vt., an area that SKI magazine called "The Ski Capital of the East." The 139-room luxury lodge at the base of Stowe Mountain Resort's Mt. Mansfield, Vermont's highest peak, is part of an alpine village offering a four season experience.
