The Links at Terranea in Palos Verdes, Calif. opened in 2009 and offers a dramatic 9-hole par 3 oceanfront golf course, with stunning views of the Pacific and Catalina Island. This is no ordinary 9-hole par 3 course; rather, it is a collection of 9 championship-caliber par-3 holes, masterfully routed and integrated with each other and the natural surroundings. Artful bunkering, unobstructed sightlines and a wide range of classic strategic elements combine to give it every bit of ‘wow' factor you would expect from coastal golf. The Links delivers a memorable experience, reasonably priced, that doesn't take all day to play. With tee placements from as much as 173 yards and a refreshing coastal breeze, the course offers an experienced golfer the opportunity to play every type of short and mid-range shot imaginable, and the new golfer an inviting setup. An expansive short game practice facility and professional instruction allow you to improve the most important part of the game in a spectacular setting.
The Wigwam's three 18-hole championship golf courses offer a diversity that cannot be matched by any other Arizona resort. Here, the golf enthusiast has their pick of not just one or two courses, but three 18-hole courses - 54 holes of championship golf including two courses designed by the legendary Robert Trent Jones, Sr. And, in true Wigwam style, each course – The Gold, The Blue and The Red offers a unique challenge that adds spice and variety to one's stay at this timeless and relaxing retreat.
Suncadia in Cle Elum, Wash. opened for golf in the summer of 2004. Framed by two lush national forests in the shadows of the Cascade Mountains, Suncadia Resort promises one of the most spectacular golf experiences in the Northwest. Arnold Palmer designed its centerpiece championship course, Prospector at Suncadia, to challenge and delight golfers of all abilities. The second course, Rope Rider is currently under construction. At Skamania Lodge near Portland, Ore., guests can play a round of golf at one of the most beautiful golf courses in Oregon which sits within the magnificent landscape of the Columbia River Gorge.
