Mountain Overview

As the southernmost sub range of the Rocky Mountains, The Sangre de Cristo Mountains are located throughout New Mexico and Colorado. The name, Spanish for "blood of Christ", is said to come from the red coloring of the mountains during sunrise and sunsets, the Inn and Spa at Loretto is nestled in the heart of Santa Fe at an elevation of 7,000 feet, high up in the Sangre de Cristo Mountains.
