Many hotel companies claim to achieve superior results in the form of higher RevPAR or higher revenues. Destination Hotels & Resorts looks beyond the top line when managing a lodging facility. While our RevPAR and overall revenues are superior to our competitors, we also outperform them in terms of profitability and overall investment returns.

Investment Performance

Destination Hotels & Resorts currently holds $2 billion in assets, with $8.5 million owned and $11.5 million managed. Eleven of the properties we acquired between the 1990's and 2000 had an initial investment cost of $311 million and were sold for $552 million.

Operating Performance

We understand the importance of maintaining a solid operation even during tough times. Through both the lodging boom of the 1990's, and the economic recession and travel slowdown of the past few years, Destination has proven itself to be a strong operator. Despite the downturn in the lodging industry, Destination has maintained a healthy RevPAR level, while most other management companies have faltered.

Destination has consistently outperformed not only industry averages, but all of the major upscale brands and management companies as well. We focus beyond rooms revenue, always searching for additional sources of income by adding or enhancing the amenities offered at properties. Destination is also well aware of the power that ancillary facilities such as spas, golf courses, and additional meeting space possess to generate additional income for properties and to broaden a hotel's appeal to new market segments.

Compared to the major brands, our ability to operate properties without a franchise affiliation provides significant cost savings. Customized sales and marketing efforts at each property, and centralized sales and marketing support allows each property to remain competitive in its market without the cost burden of a national chain affiliation. 

Destination devises a unique approach to each asset in order to maximize profitability potential without sacrificing the guest experience. Meticulous analysis of the revenues and costs involved in each asset results in GOP at Destination properties exceeding industry averages for both luxury and upscale properties.
