Warm Fires Warm Up Travelers During Cold January Weather

Destination Hotels & Resorts ~

Warm cozy fire features set the mood as travelers try to thaw out during the arctic freeze that is hitting the country.

As most of the country tries to keep warm during the January arctic freeze that has hit coast-to-coast, it conjures images of hot chocolate, s’mores and cozying up by a grand fireplace or around an outdoor fire pit. Numerous Destination Hotels & Resorts properties offer a great setting to warm up around the fire. Following are some great spots to warm up while the temperatures around the country have plummeted.

•    Vail Cascade in Colorado offers a unique setting along the Gore Creek where guests can warm up around multiple outdoor fire pits and a creative fire feature while listening to the water nearby.
•    A grand fireplace in the lobby at Resort at Squaw Creek sets the mood for skiers and snowboarders after a day on the slopes at Squaw Valley USA.
•    A modern fire feature with brilliant blue sea glass sets the tone for guests enjoying the Bleu Bar at the seaside L’Auberge Del Mar in California.

A great compliment to a cozy fire are s’mores. A tip for making a great s’more is putting the graham cracker with chocolate near the fire to warm up before placing the toasted marshmallow between the two pieces. Nothing is better than a s’more with warm, gooey chocolate!

Stay warm during this deep freeze and if a fire doesn’t help, check out vacation deals at Destination’s beach properties.
