The Links at Terranea “Development of the Year” by Golf Inc.
The Winter 2010 issue of Golf Inc. magazine named The Links at Terranea “Development of the Year”

The ballots are in and The Links at Terranea has garnered top awards by leading golf publications for “vision,” “daring” and challenging design. The Winter 2010 issue of Golf Inc. magazine named The Links at Terranea “Development of the Year” winner. Designed by golf course architect Todd Eckenrode of Origins Golf Design, the 9-hole, par 3 short course opened in July 2009 and is part of the 102-acre oceanfront Terranea Resort in Rancho Palos Verdes, just south of Los Angeles. This golf resort in California is managed by Destination Hotels & Resorts and developed by Lowe Enterprises.
“The Links at Terranea, our U.S. winner, and in many ways the most daring and unlikely of our finalists, is….built on just 30 acres of some of the priciest real estate in southern California,” says writer Jim Dunlap. “‘Vision’ is the quality that judges weigh most heavily in their evaluation of the many deserving entries in our annual Development of the Year contest. The winners, runners up and finalists for 2009 demonstrated that trait in spades,” continued the article.
Golfing in the Los Angeles area at The Links at Terranea offers a refreshing alternative to the abundance of long, intimidating and sometimes inaccessible courses built in the past 20 years. The oceanfront course presents a challenging and scenic test with elevation changes, natural contouring, artful bunkering, and unobstructed sightlines to local landmarks such as the Point Vicente Lighthouse and Catalina Island. At the same time, The Links invites local play and has become a welcome addition to residents of the Palos Verdes Peninsula and surrounding communities.
