Sunsets and Sunrises Over The California Pacific Coast
As I sit here watching the sunrise over the Pacific Ocean, it dawns on me (no pun intended) that just yesterday I watched the sunset over the Pacific from almost the same location, at Terranea Resort. Is this possible, can the sun rise and set over the same ocean? I quickly look on the map and realize that Terranea, located on the Rancho Palos Verdes peninsula, jets out southwest into the Pacific which not only gives you westerly views over the ocean, but southeast views as well. And with the winter sun rising in the southeast, you are able to see both the sunrise and sunset over the Pacific Ocean from here. And as I look up again I get lost in the sheer beauty of the sunrise…
What an amazing spot to greet the day. From my balcony I can see the pelicans diving into the ocean, the dolphins skipping across the water in front of Catalina Island and I can hear the birds calling through the still air, it is truly an amazing morning! I can’t believe this paradise is only 40 minutes from Los Angeles, it’s no wonder so many people move to Southern California. Not a bad place for this year’s sales conference… I guess I better go get ready for the day and the meetings ahead.
But first let me share the sunrise with you through my photos:
