Destination Hotels & Resorts – Jump Start Your Year!
After just returning from an inspiring week at Hamilton Park Conference Center in New Jersey, I can’t help but reflect on what a difference it makes to jump start your year with a big kick-off meeting. For our company, Destination Hotels & Resorts, this is the one time each year that we hold a National Sales Meeting – the perfect chance to visit with your colleagues at sister properties, and get tuned-in on the latest and greatest from a corporate leadership perspective.
Last week in New Jersey, we got inspired, motivated, and enthused! While starting off a new year in the sales industry may seem daunting (when given your goals for the year), coming off a meeting where you are privy to training and motivation really helps you feel like you can conquer just about anything! I can’t imagine starting off my year without the opportunity to attend such a meeting. Being that I am in the role to book such meetings at my hotel properties, I can’t stress enough to my corporate clients out there that these meetings should definitely take place! There’s no better way to energize your associates than to inspire them in a group setting. Adding a team-building component such as we did at Hamilton Park can also provide a memorable experience. We went on a scavenger hunt around the property to gather items which eventually went into care packages to be shipped to our U.S. soldiers. All this while having fun with our colleagues and sharing in a feel-good moment. There are lots of great ideas I have seen that incorporate ‘give-back’ activities – certainly something to consider as you plan for your next event!
