With a heat wave blanketing most of the US, I think everyone is fully aware that Summer is in full swing. One reason most locals give as their reason for moving to Telluride, is how great it is here in the Summer. Temperatures are mild and the humidity is low, granted it is a much drier climate and you must stay hydrated so that you do not end up visiting another of our landmarks, the Telluride Medical Center....that one does NOT need to be on your "to do" list.

A couple of weeks back, we posted some information about the Telluride Golf Resort and how spectacular the course is. We highlighted that at 9,500 feet the ball will in deed go farther than at sea-level....and of course my General Manager, Mark Murphy is always up for a challenge to prove me wrong or maybe he just like golfing..it's still up for debate. So first let me clarify...yes, you can still get a great savings at The Hotel Telluride with our Stay and Play Golf package that runs all Summer long...and yes, it comes with Breakfast and discounted rounds of golf for one of the most amazing courses ever found in the Mountains. But I do stand corrected...the ball will NOT go farther, if you hit it anything like my GM, who is forever immortalized in the below clip. Remember fellow golfers, if your swing resembles "Happy Gilmore"...you will be caught on film, hacking out of the jungle, at some point!

Well loyal followers, here we are again. One week out from another successful, fun filled, Telluride Bluegrass Festival. Around here it's kind of like the day after Christmas, we waited all year for it, then 'poof' it's over and we're all left wondering...WOW did that really happen?!

The Telluride Ski & Golf Resort has an attention grabbing campaign this year,  on the Golf section of their website... "Breathtaking course at 9,500 feet", of course every word is true and the image that is included on the page is indeed Breathtaking. I just wonder how many golf enthusiasts have had the pleasure of golfing at 9,500 feet above sea-level? Do they clearly understand the ball will fly farther, the experience will be grander or even that they will be the envy of all the "flat landers" they usually play the links with?

First, I would like to thank the guests who have posted wonderful stories , experiences and videos of their visits in with us in Telluride. We enjoy every post and look forward to many more in the future. Summer is in full swing in Telluride, the warm days, Festival filled weekends and awe-inspiring Mountain views...there is so much to fall in love with.
